Lately, I’ve been checking my blog at Google a lot. To check my blog, I use this search query.

site:silkenhut.com/blog

I use this to check if All in One SEO Plug-in has taken effect and also to see which pages are indexed. When I saw my results, I noticed several pages that I don’t want to be indexed but are indexed by Google. Aside from my individual post pages, these are the other things that Google has indexed from the blog.

• My stats page was indexed and included with it are the links for every person who have commented. (http://silkenhut/stats/?stats_author=Elizar)
• My feeds and comments are being indexed. (http://silkenhut/back-up-wordpress-using-a-plug-in/feed/)
• My archives and pages (http://silkenhut/page/3/) are also being indexed.

This is not a major problem but personally, I want to make sure that the pages being indexed are the useful ones such as the blog articles and not the feeds, comments, archives etc…

How many blogs do you visit and read?

When I first started this blog, I learned that you should reach out to fellow bloggers to gain new friends and of course, back links. At first, I only had a handful of blogs that I frequently visit but thanks to events such as blogger meet ups, these numbers started to grow.

I realized that visiting each of these blogs for anything new is a lot of work. Mind you, I don’t just drop by and do some link bait, I do read your blogs. ^_^ It’s not that I don’t want to visit their blogs but having to open 20+ blogs everyday is very time consuming. Also, it is not also the fact that they have new posts every time I visit so I looked for an alternative way to check their blogs for updates without visiting each blog one at a time.

This is the second Taste Asia Blogger Meet Up that was held in SM Mall of Asia but it’s my first time joining it. Although it’s kind of late to post this, allow me to retell the story of my experience in this blogger meet up. ^_^I first got to know that there was such an event when Ms. Aileen Apolo wrote a comment about it in here. Upon knowing it, I quickly checked my schedule if there would be a conflict like what if I have to go home to Iloilo or have some thesis requirements in school. I’m glad there was none to stop me from confirming my attendance.

On the day of the event, Karlo @ Pinoyblogero and I went to SM Mall of Asia way ahead of time. It was just about 2pm I think and the event will start on 730pm. Issue six is kind of late since I have not touched my blog last weekend. Anyways, time to dish out last week’s reaching out issue.

• Linux & Windows both in one pc - At first, I thought this was done through dual-boot but this new way is much more easier to do. ^_^
• Mini guide to attending offline blog events Part 1 & Part 2 - Kudos to Pinoyblogero on his mini guide in line with the blogger meetup that happened last week at Taste Asia!
• Increasing traffic by making guest posts - Kirby tells us how he managed to increase his traffic by writing a guest post at some prominent blog. Good job! ^_^

I regret to say that I will be going on a blog hiatus for about 3-4 days because I will be out traveling tomorrow. I will be going to Iloilo through “roro” on Saturday and return to Manila on Monday.

I do hope you will not delete from your bookmarks nor unsubscribe from the feeds. hehe
