This is an experiment of one of Google’s features called Google Alerts. This is the description of Google Alert based from their page.

Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.

Some handy uses of Google Alerts include: [1] monitoring a developing news story, [2] keeping current on a competitor or industry, [3] getting the latest on a celebrity or event, [4] keeping tabs on your favorite sports teams.

Creating the Google Alert

Creating a Google Alert is easy. Just enter the search terms you want to receive updates on, choose what type of report, how often should you receive the report and give your email address.

Ok, I’m so late with this reaching out issue. Usually I schedule them to be posted at 930am at Sundays, now it’s just 1 hour till Monday comes. Anyways, on with the links!

• Blog attacks, the new trend? - Is this the new trend in blogging? Blog attacks? Read how Yatot attacks ten blogs in his blog. (Note: This post is for fun only)
• Tips to get traffic on your blog - Tips on getting traffic is always appreciated. I want more blog traffic!!! haha
• A good example of Post Scheduling - Watch this great example done by Selaplana on scheduling his posts so that his blog still has new posts everyday even if he is not around.
• Risks in changing your blog address - JP aka Elmo recently changed his blog address. Read his post on what happens when you change your blog address.
• Don’t ask people to click on your ads - Ehem! Need I say more? It’s one of the two bad blogging practices you should avoid.

UPDATE: The problem has been solved when I checked it right now. Perhaps it was just a misconfiguration of the phpconfig.

This is a big problem that surfaced after the blog came back online yesterday.

Problem Description

I found out that wordpress can’t write any files on my web host. It was able to do it before the downtime, but after it came back online, it is not able to do it anymore.

As an experiment, I tried logging in to my web host account through FTP and uploaded some files there. I was able to upload successfully (write successful). However, why is it that Wordpress can’t do this? I mean, write files in the web host account?

Problem Evidence

I discovered this phenomenon when I was browsing through my plug-ins. Some of my plug-ins require write access to my web host account in order to function. Since they can’t write anything, they don’t work. Here are the plug-ins I use that needs write access. Read the rest of this entry »
