Silkenhut’s World

Pinoy blogging experiences. Includes blogging tips, technical blogging guides, wordpress, and SEO.

Here are some examples of current events (they are already considered history since they already happened). If you blog about these events, I’m sure you will gain traffic although temporarily.

Blogger Meetups

Remember the blogger meetups that was held a months a go? There was Taste Asia 1, Digital Filipino’s Influential blogger contest, Taste Asia 2 and the Ms. Fields event. Not only will you meet the faces behind the blogs, you will also meet new bloggers and gain potential regular readers and lots of backlinks (provided you wrote the blog entry to the event one day after and linked it to the main blog of the event).

This tip started out as an experiment. I was thinking that what if I write topics on the current news and events happening nowadays? What will be the effect of it to my blog? Will it scare away my regular readers or will it help me gain more readers instead?

Instead of pondering on these questions, I tried to answer my own question by doing an experiment. I read on the newspaper and watched television to know what the current events are. I picked one event which is UAAP Season 70 Basketball and blogged about it. I only wrote two posts about it which are DLSU’s win against ADMU and DLSU’s becomes a champion by sweeping UE.

So what are the results of this experiment?

Webhosting Review: PhilHosting.net

Introduction

I have been with Philhosting for nearly three months and I had my shares of ups and downs while using their services. Right now, I would like to give a review on Philhosting.net based on my experience. I have been ranting in rage in the past before due to their unannounced downtimes. If you were to scan my blog for anything Philhosting, it would return results that are saying negative things about them. I wish to correct it by writing a review based on their services while not in rage (hehe).

This Philhosting.net review is unpaid and is based on my experiences only. This review will focus on three main topics which are (1) pricing, (2) support and (3) services. Read the rest of this entry »

Table of contents for Uaap Men's Basketball Season 70
  1. UAAP Season 70 - 5th Showdown - DLSU defeats ADMU
  2. De La Salle sweeps UE in UAAP Season 70 Seniors Basketball

De La Salle University Today was a good day for all the Lasallians! This afternoon, we just witnessed the DLSU green archers defeating the UE Red warriors to capture the championship. It was a 2-0 sweep against UE. After sweeping the elimination round with a record of 14-0 then losing to a sweep in the championship must be a super duper mega ultra disappointment for UE. All their hard work from the eliminations down the drain after today’s match. This is a big comeback for DLSU after getting suspended last season due to an illegitimate player.

Update: There will be a celebration at De La University on October 11, 2007 starting at 4pm! Food fest!!! If you have time to eat, drink and be merry, join the fun!

Game Synopsis

The game started with both teams not able to score except for a free throw by DLSU. Suddenly, UE made some fast breaks to lead 8-1 but DLSU fought back to cut down that lead. A few more lead changes happened but suddenly DLSU was able to break free from the constant lead changes and lead for around 10 points come halftime. UE started to rally in the third quarter by making some good three point shots but DLSU hanged on their lead till the end of the game. The closest UE got in cutting the lead was just one point but their hopes were shattered when JV Casio made a long range shot with DLSU’s shot clock running out. It was considered as the turning point of the game and UE never recovered after that.
