A Little Thing Called Love Movie

Just watched this movie yesterday. It was a nice Thai movie and actually the first non horror Thai movie I watched (cringes at memories of the Eye).

The ordinary 14 year old girl Nam is unattractive or in simple terms…ugly. But she’s always been secretly in love with an older guy in grade 10 called Chon, the most popular student in high-school. He’s hot, perfect and generous, and that’s what makes girls go crazy about him, including Nam too. But she doesn’t give up easily. She tries to do everything to make her get noticed by the boy she loves, in the hope of him turning around to look at her just one more time.

My take:

A Little Thing Called Love is about a girl who has a big crush on the campus hunk. She tries her best to get noticed by improving everything about her (grades, talents, and even her looks). The killjoy in me wondered how was she able to improve her looks so much and so fast without going under the knife? Everyone else still looked the same even as time passed by but she grew prettier at every scene! That was the unbelievable part for me but I can let it pass because she’s pretty! LoL

I saw her passion to do and be successful for her crush (love). The story revolves around her struggles and sacrifices as she goes through her high school life (old friends vs new friends, it is hard to balance both, falling in love with someone who everybody else likes too).

Although the plot isn’t that new (especially the twist), it was delivered nicely and I didn’t realize that nearly two hours have passed because I was enjoying the movie so much. I would have wanted more but the movie ended… Oh well… overall, it is a nice feel good movie 🙂 This gives us the feeling that you can do anything for the one you love. Others say that it was a tear jerker movie but I don’t agree. I don’t think there were scenes that were too sad or maybe people can simply relate to having a crush way back in high school but they didn’t get the attention they wanted from their crush. At least, she did something and she didn’t wait for her crush to talk to her instead.

I’m looking forward to more movies just like this one or maybe more movies from the same pretty actress! I’m a sucker for movies with pretty actresses because even if the movie is boring, the mere presence of the actress would be enough for me to finish the movie! Oh well, I’m going off topic here now.

  3. Hay naku yung ibang friends ko ang taas ng rating sa movie na ito kesyo nakakarelate daw sila sa high school life nila. Pero para sa akin di ako makarelate kasi ang hirap sa school namin, no time for love l ife.

  4. It was a kind of movie that will let you go back on your old campus days when everything is about studies, friends and infatuation. Like you said it’s a feel good movie that is best shared with your school friends. I only wished her friends got a better make over too.
