ADMU the UAAP Season 71 and the ADMU Bonfire

Well, congratulations to the Ateneo Blue Eagles for being the champs this UAAP Season 71. I guess they deserve it with their very strong line up. Ok, end of praise hehe

So my real purpose here is to showcase to you the Ateneo victory party with their bonfire.

Just a quick trivia, did you know what the Ateneans did in their bonfire that’s really like hitting below the belt for the Lasallian community? Well, see the pictures in this link and you will see what I mean.

For those who simply want to know, those people from THE ATENEO wrote the names of the DLSU basketball players in the wood they were using for their bonfire. I mean, do they really have to resort to that level?

Oh well, what’s more, the big bosses of Ateneo apologizes for what their community did with a letter to the Lasallian community. It’s like PGMA before when she said, I’m sorry for the hello Garci scandal. To read the letter of apology, go here.

I am actually appalled by how shallow and low they have gone with this act. It’s not like this affair could be “rectified” by a mere letter just I have commented on Karen’s blog, but LaSallians could also be the bigger men (or women) by just forgiving, just like true Christian Achievers for God and Country do.

Congratulations still to the Blue Eagles for this year’s win, by the way.

i am sure the Ateneo administration was sincere when they issued the letter of apology. Chris Tiu has expressed his sentiments in his blog, and i agree with him. ADMU and DLSU are not enemies, but somehow because of the UAAP, there seemed to be a rivalry over-hyped up by the media. anyway, a DLSU ADMU game is always EXCITING!

Dear Bro. Armin,

I would like to extend my deepest apology to you and to the La Sallian community for what some alumnus or student did at the Ateneo Bonfire, namely, write the names of the La Salle players on the wood. Unfortunately, none of us saw it ahead of time, because the wood pile was covered by a tarp against the rain until the time came to light it.

Despite our rivalries in sports, we are both committed to Christian values and what was done is certainly a violation of values we share.

Once again, my deepest apologies to you and to the La Sallian community. We are trying to find out who is responsible for the act.
