There’s less than 1 day left before the Manny Pacquiao and Manuel Marquez rematch and as I checked Google, a lot of pinoy bloggers are also battling it out to gain the top position in the search engine results. Now why would they do this?
The official results are out!
The simple answer is traffic. Remember my post about, “Increasing traffic by blogging about current events“, this is an example of a current event. Also, this is just any current event, it’s an event that is being anticipated by everyone that will make everyone stop and drop what they are doing just to watch this rematch on TV.
If you blog about this, you can expect that your traffic will increase dramatically but it will be short term only. Since current events do not stay current for a long time right? However, it’s nice to see a traffic surge because you blogged on how Manny Pacquaio and Marquez beat each other up.
Karlo.PinoyBlogero told me that I’m too late to blog about this and I agree. I don’t think Google can rank me high for this set of keywords but it’s worth a try. Let me just blog about this and report on my statistics after 3-4 days where the excitement about this rematch and boxing results have died out.
Goodluck Manny Pacquiao! Goodluck Manuel Marquez! Give us a show where we would enjoy. ^_^

1you really are late in posting this.. it should be 6 months or at least a month before the event, you should post this already and start SOEing.
Me? … I don’t join the competition on topping the SERP about it.. My SEO knowledge is obsolete and I know I couldn’t top the SERP…. I am still searching for information about the new algo of Google for me to figure what to do for the SEO competition like this.

2@Sel - Hi Sel, yes.. I am really late but I’d still try. I’ve been checking out the other blogs that posted about this and some are down. Massive traffic I guess. I’m also learning more about seo… but I think the most basic seo tip is to just blog about it.

3im sure you’l receive a fairly amount of traffic.. even if it’s not for the match, “manny pacquiao” keyword alone will!
check out the trend for that keyword! Goldmine!

6@Eli - Hi Eli, the traffic I’ve received is actually quite small. Checking my stats, it just doubled. Unlike Karlo, he said he got 10k page views yesterday! Now that’s ownage! hehe

But I didn’t mean the traffic for yesterday alone… yung mga susunod pang mga araw for ‘manny pacquiao’ if you just keep on optimizing..
