It has been a while since I’ve had time to look around the web for new ways to make money online. Right now, I’ve landed on a promising program called TNX.net.

Initially I thought this was a shortcut for thank you but reading the site description of TNX.net, I found out what it is all about.

TNX.net combines the benefits of Contextual Advertising, Text Link Brokers and Relevant Exchange of permanent non-reciprocal text links.

Since this was the first I’ve heard of it, my senses were telling me that I should research further before joining this program. So I did a Google and Technorati search about TNX.net. Google says 111,000 results and Technorati says 1,802 reactions. I guess that’s a good enough number so let us start with my experiement with TNX.net…

What is TNX.net?

From the way I see it, it serves as a middleman that will connect publishers and advertisers (same concept as many other programs). However, there had been new innovations that makes TNX.net different from others.

  • Point System - Instead of using money, the currency in TNX.net is through TNX.net points. Advertisers buy these points so that they can advertise in the websites of the publishers. The higher the PR of publisher, the more points is required to advertise there. Actually, this reminds me of the entrecard’s system. However, to give a complete list, here’s what you can do with your points.
    1. Use them to pay for advertising your website which will improve positions in search engine results.
    2. Hold on to your points and watch its price growing.
    3. Sell your points to us or any other TNX member.
  • Per page link instead of site-wide links - Instead of using site-wide links, tnx.net will offer text links on every page of your website. Now what does this mean for you? As an advertiser, you can specifically target which pages on that website do you want your links on. As a publisher, you can have more room for text links because every page on your blog is an income opportunity.
  • Links are more contextual - Instead of just showing the anchor text with the keyword and a link to the website, it makes the link look as natural as possible. Signing up as a publisher/advertiser

Signing up is pretty straight forward. You just need to fill in some small details such as log-on name, password, full name and email address and you are done. They have the same sign-up page for publishers and advertisers. But I’m going to take the role of a publisher for this article.

So what’s the first I can do as a publisher? Here’s a mini list.

  1. Install the TNX code on your site. (done)
  2. Add your site to TNX system. We will approve it in 1-2 days. (waiting)
  3. Raise the number of links displayed on pages of your website (max. 4 links).
  4. Create your own ad campaigns or sell TNX-points to TNX-system or other TNX users.

Mini Conclusion

So that’s it for now, I don’t want to write something I have not experienced because I don’t want to fool myself or my readers. If I get past step # 2, I will update this or perhaps make a brand new post all together.
