Yesterday, I read at Karlo’s blog about his new gimmick which is the Search for the Pinoy Blog of the Month for October. Of course, seeing that this would be an opportunity to increase my blog traffic if I manage to win, I joined the contest.

This is the second Taste Asia Blogger Meet Up that was held in SM Mall of Asia but it’s my first time joining it. Although it’s kind of late to post this, allow me to retell the story of my experience in this blogger meet up. ^_^I first got to know that there was such an event when Ms. Aileen Apolo wrote a comment about it in here. Upon knowing it, I quickly checked my schedule if there would be a conflict like what if I have to go home to Iloilo or have some thesis requirements in school. I’m glad there was none to stop me from confirming my attendance.
On the day of the event, Karlo @ Pinoyblogero and I went to SM Mall of Asia way ahead of time. It was just about 2pm I think and the event will start on 730pm. I promised myself that I will not write this until I finish my powerpoint presentation for thesis. It’s 12:48am now and I am writing this. Can I just get some sleep now and blog this later when I wake up? NO! Haha I want to post this or else I will be forgetting what happened in the event.
So without further ado, let me retell what happened at the event…
The first blogger that I met was Karlo @ PinoyBlogero since we planned to go together since we are not 100% sure of the location of the venue. When we arrived at Glorietta, I asked the security guard and he told us to exit from Glorietta 1 and to our surprise, Max restaurant (venue) was very near to the exit. It was still early, I think just about 4:45. Karlo wants to be the early bird! haha
Moments later, we saw some people entering the place so we followed them. The secret code we uttered was “digital” and we were escorted by the waiter to the second floor to a function room. We were greeted by the organizer of the event, Ms. Janette Toral and was seated together with fellow bloggers. They are Ms. Noemi, Ms. PJ, and Ms. Joy. I don’t know what came to me but I just sent my confirmation to attend the “August 1 Eyeball: Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2007 Winners Announcement“. I was thinking about it for a while if I will go or not. Well, I don’t have any activities for that day and I’m guessing that this will be a good experience so I decided to go.
I’m sure that I will be just lurking in the corner talking to nobody since I am very shy in the real world. Although I am hoping to meet new friends and bloggers alike. We can talk about a lot of things, blogging or not blogging related.
Ah yes there are benefits for joining this eyeball. Aside from the tips mentioned by Karlo.PinoyBlogero, there’s FREE FOOD! just kidding hehe. Since it’s the top 10 emerging blogs of 2007 announcement of winners, 10 are going to win one hundred dollars ($100) in the raffle. Now if that won’t make you want to come, then nobody is forcing you. =p
