This is not related to blogging but this is something I could not neglect. I request that we all pray for the souls of the victims, and their families for the tragedy that struck them. Nobody deserves to die that way. -_-
It happened October 19, 2007 at around 1:30pm when a huge blast rocked Glorietta 2. The blast was first reported as an explosion from the LPG at Luk Yen Restaurant but further investigations seem to link it to a terrorist attack. Sirens were wailing like hell yesterday at Ayala Ave going to the scene of the disaster.
I would like to commend GMANews.TV for their prompt news update. I was trying to check the websites of Manilabulletin, Inquirer, ABS CBN news and GMANews for any updates and it was GMANews who provided the quickest update of the four sites I checked. I am not saying that the other websites are slow, I just say that in this event, GMANews was faster to react. ^_^

Today was a good day for all the Lasallians! This afternoon, we just witnessed the DLSU green archers defeating the UE Red warriors to capture the championship. It was a 2-0 sweep against UE. After sweeping the elimination round with a record of 14-0 then losing to a sweep in the championship must be a super duper mega ultra disappointment for UE. All their hard work from the eliminations down the drain after today’s match. This is a big comeback for DLSU after getting suspended last season due to an illegitimate player.
Update: There will be a celebration at De La University on October 11, 2007 starting at 4pm! Food fest!!! If you have time to eat, drink and be merry, join the fun!
Game Synopsis
The game started with both teams not able to score except for a free throw by DLSU. Suddenly, UE made some fast breaks to lead 8-1 but DLSU fought back to cut down that lead. A few more lead changes happened but suddenly DLSU was able to break free from the constant lead changes and lead for around 10 points come halftime. UE started to rally in the third quarter by making some good three point shots but DLSU hanged on their lead till the end of the game. The closest UE got in cutting the lead was just one point but their hopes were shattered when JV Casio made a long range shot with DLSU’s shot clock running out. It was considered as the turning point of the game and UE never recovered after that.

The final showdown for UAAP Season 70 between ADMU (Ateneo de Manila University) and DLSU (De La Salle University) was concluded last sunday where DLSU emerged victorious.
Game Synopsis
It was a great game because both teams are fighting for their dear life. The team who loses will automatically get third place while the winner will face off with UE for the championship. For the first three quarters, the battle was very close. DLSU would take a four to five point lead at some time but ADMU would always bounce back. However, in the fourth quarter, DLSU started to get away from ADMU through the heroics of Pocholo “Pochy” Villanueva. He made several big shots that shattered ADMU’s hopes in winning a championship this season.
There was a time where DLSU only had a five point lead and the ball was in Chris Tiu’s hands. Knowing that Chris Tiu is ADMU’s three point specialist, DLSU guarded him like hell that he was forced to pass the ball to Baclao standing beyond the arc. Baclao shot the ball and it went in. The ADMU crowd went wild and I was hoping that it won’t be a dejavu of the last game since the situation is very similar (DLSU leading then ADMU rallies to win the game) However, Pocholo made a side jumper and Casio sank his free throws that erased ADMU’s hope for a comeback. In the end, DLSU wins over ADMU and will go on to fight UE for the championship! Go go Lasalle! Pochy power!
