We all know that Typhoon Frank lashed out in the Visayas and damaged was pretty bad in Iloilo City. Based on the testimonial of this comment by Redlan, the water level rose very fast that it shocked a lot of people. The water dam in Maasin was damaged, river beside jaro overflowed, and high tide came so Jaro suddenly became a sea.
Here is a nice writeup on a first hand experience on getting stranded in a mall because they were trapped by the flood. (I’d like to collect more of your experiences)

The Philippines is under a huge crisis right now due to the effects of Typhoon Frank who slapped the Visayas region with heavy rain and strong winds yesterday and today.
I asked my parents who were living in Iloilo City about the status and here is what they said, (translated to English)
“We are ok but the others are not. There’s too many floodwater. The city of Iloilo and its provinces are flooded. Most are on their rooftops already. My friend, Malyn’s 3 vehicles are all submerged underwater already. The people are helpless and don’t know what to do and where to go. It’s a huge calamity. Rooftops are flying left and right.”
What a disaster this is. I’m glad that my family back there is ok but I can’t help but feel bad about the other people there who are suffering from flood and had to evacuate their homes. It would be hard to recoup for all the loses and damages that Frank the typhoon has caused. I hope this typhoon goes away soon so that people can start anew again.
I hope the government would take this as an initiative to unite our people and help one another. Enough fights and bickering and publicity stunts, they should focus on the things people need the most and that is support from the government.

Boston Celtics wins against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals 2008. The final score is 108-102. Next game will be on June 10, Lakers’ Homecourt. (That would be Wednesday morning (June 11) for us in the Philippines)
Because I was waxing my car, I only managed to watch the game with 6 minutes remaining on the 4th quarter. Boston was leading by about 20 points and I thought it was going to be a blow-out. But the Lakers rallied and nearly turn the game over but in the end, clutch free throws by Boston won the game.

Update: Selling is up to June 22, 2008.
Last Saturday, I witnessed again the rise of gasoline prices. Unleaded gasoline is now priced at ~Php60.00 per liter and it’s going to go up every week. There had been reports that gasoline prices are going to reach as high as Php 65.00 per liter! To owners of gasoline powered cars, this is going to be a huge dent to our pockets however, Seaoil, an independent fuel company has decided to ease the burden of rising gas prices by launching their first ever Seaoil Prepaid Card.

Here is some quick info about it.

Boston Celtics wins against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals 2008. The final score is 98-88. Next game will be on June 8, Boston’s Homecourt. (That would be Monday morning (June 9) for us in the Philippines)
I did not manage to watch the whole game because I overslept. I just started watching in the third quarter and it was a tight battle until late in the 4th quarter where the Boston defense made Lakers miss a lot of shots.
