The last time I had oral prophylaxis or in simple terms, professional teeth cleaning was around 2-3 years ago. I realized that I have been neglecting my teeth so when I saw a group buying deal for oral prophylaxis, I hit that buy button and here I am now, just finished my much-needed teeth cleaning.
It took three re-schedules before I was able to redeem this deal at Denta Prime (reasons: holiday, emergency and event). I’m glad that they can easily be contacted and they do reply promptly on text messages else I would be an unhappy customer.
Let me tell you about the procedure that was done to me (I’m not sure if this would be a routine or it is customized depending on your teeth and how “dirty” it is).
- The procedure started with “scaling” where through the use of many tools, the dentist attacked my teeth and removed those “tartar“. This is the reason why that every time I get my teeth cleaned, they look “thinner” after the procedure because some of it were not teeth but tartar. This procedure took up the most time.
- After that, she applied a tooth paste to my teeth, was it fluoride and a few minutes later, I rinsed them from my mouth. (btw, it is said not to eat or drink for at least 30 minutes… but I didn’t know that and I ate lunch a few minutes later).
- As an added bonus, she also covered up a hole in my upper teeth. This hole has been bothering me for a while because food would get in there and it is hard to get it out. I appreciated this step.
It felt good to be back at the dentist. I spent a lot of time in the dentist when I was still young. The feeling of opening your mouth for a long time, a rubber suction sucking out your saliva, different tools going in your mouth, it just felt nostalgic.
Anyway, I would also like to mention that the liquid they are offering you to rinse your teeth with was like a mouthwash. Very nice!
