Taiwan Visa Excemption for US Visa Holders

Taiwan Visa Excemption for US Visa Holders

Are you planning to go to Taiwan anytime soon? Usually before you can go there, you need to acquire a Taiwan Visa.

[Note — For those residents of the Philippines or Filipino Citizens only]

To obtain a Taiwan Visa, you need to go to the Taiwan Consulate in the Philippines which is located at this address.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines
41F, Tower 1, RCBC Plaza, 6819 Ayala Avenue, Makati City 1200, Metro Manila, Philippines

However, if you have a US Visa, you will be exempted from this process if you can secure an approval and an authorization certificate from this website. Just visit the website and input your details. Approval is very fast (after I clicked submit, I got sent to another page that said approved).

Getting this approval will save you the Taiwan Visa Application fee which is PHP2,400. That is already shopping money.

This exemption is really a good way to save money and all I have to do is to show this upon arrival in Taiwan (maybe it will also be needed at the airport), bottom line is, you should not lose those documents. Make several copies of those and keep it safe, Taiwan Visa Free!

My flight is next month so I will check and document my experiences on that too.

  5. I am scheduled to leave for Taiwan on October 6th, 2011 to join a group tour for the 100 Years Double Tenth Celebration. I applied for e-visa free on September 6, 2011 and was granted a visa with Authorization expiry date on October 6, 2011.
My problem is we are travelling thru PAL airlines and there is an going labor problem in the airport. I am worried that there might be some kind of delay or flight cancellation on that date.
So I applied again today for another e-visa free and was given the same Authorization with expiry date of October 6, 2011.
Can I apply for another new visa free with a new expiry date later than October 6th??
