It is sad to see my traffic stats drop so low because of Google. I’ve been reading daily the webmaster guidelines and trying to check what went wrong but to no avail. My search engine traffic from Google has not returned yet thus my blog is suffering.
I know people would say that Google is not the only search engine around but I have been trying to optimize my blog for Yahoo and MSN, and I believe, I was able to conquer them. However, a lot of people still use Google and that’s a lot of potential traffic lost due to it. Why Google why?
Everything on this blog is suffering, the traffic that should have flowed into this blog, the visitors (new or old) that could have discovered this blog, the earnings that are proportional to my traffic. It just makes me so sad looking at my traffic stats in Google. Yesterday, I just got 9 visitors from Google! -_-
Oh well, if anyone of you knows how to return from this pithole, please do tell me. I’m getting desperate due to the things I’ve lost due to Google dropping me.

1Was your blog hacked earlier with spammy outgoing links? (As of now, I couldn’t find any such link.) If that’s the case, wait for some more time.
Was your blog down for a couple of times? If you don’t know, sign up for a web monitoring service. Couple of free services are available.
Are you trying to gain excessive inbound links? If yes, slow down.
Too many 404s, 302s, 301s? Check the errors returned in webmaster central.

2I noticed your PR is 0. Have you been doing paid posts or selling links that passes PR juice? I’m not an expert in Google but there are many possibilities. Unfortunately, only Google knows for sure!

3Here we go again.
Allen, I hate to say it - But I told you so. What can I say now that I haven’t said before? Work hard, write good stuff, and follow their rules. Write for your visitors, not for the search engines. And be patient.

41) Look for an in debt links that a certain person ask you to do so.. when you are doing paid post
2) Go to webmaster Tools and ask for reconsideration in their contact page
It is only Google Team that can do about it.. check for http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/ and check for some post that may be related to your problem.
Google is really unpredictable.. And lastly avoid for the meantime SEO post put post which are really relevant for the niche.

5The almost invisible links in the footer won’t help any, nor will the sheer volume of your code.
The title attributes on the links in your “recent post” sidebar are way too long as well.
That’s from about 2 minutes of looking. There’s probably a lot more.

6Google is not the only search engine around, but it is certainly the most used and the one that brings my blogs more than 95% of their traffic, so not loosing it as a traffic source is a huge hit.
You are extremely well indexed, rank for your name, have plenty of BLs, and keep your blog well updated, which is very hard, so I can see how you would feel disappointed.
You might try coming up with maybe one extremely long post every week, like 800+ words, because I think google loves that stuff.

7Youch… hmmm I second no.2 of Sir Dex’s suggestion. I got my PR back after a quick email.
I think for now you should focus on a single niche and follow what Mam Ling (Mam nga ba?) said.
BTW
I think I’m able to send you traffic through the PSP download post though not much =(

8@MTBlog - Hmm how do you know if you got hacked? Well, I checked my code and there seems to be nothing wrong with it.
I have also subscribed to LogicReach, it notifies me if my blog is down. Once in a while, I see that my blog is down for a few minutes. Is that enough to make google drop me?
In regards to gaining of links, no, I’m not gaining too much links. I”m just getting links, 1 link at a time.
Thanks for the tips.

9@Kabalyero - Hello there, my PR has been 0 ever since I mentioned PIPIPI on one of my posts. Although all my outgoing peyd links have no-follow on them soon after. It’s supposed to be allowed since it’s stated in the Webmaster guidelines on how to deal with posts like that (adding a no-follow will not get you penalized)

10@Ling - Yeah, you are right. I’ve been looking back on my previous posts and it seems Google really slapped me hard. At first, it was just PR which should have killed most of my peyd posts opportunities, now they killed even my traffic and my earning opportunities. However, I’ve noticed something.. which I’ll be writing in a new post.

11@Dex - Hi Dex, hmm sorry but I don’t understand your first tip. What do you mean indept links? However, I already asked for reconsideration. The last time I did, it took me two weeks before Google traffic returned but then it died again.
Google really hates me haha

12@Alice - Hi Alice, thank you very much for your corrections. I have done the necessary corrections on the links on the footer, removed the title posts in the recent post but I’m not sure on the sheer amount of code you mentioned. What do you mean by that? Should I disable some plug-ins? Looking forward for your reply.

13@Porch Lifts - Now if only people would use other search engines other than Google, I wouldn’t be having this dilemma. I just checked and it seems that, I don’t rank for my own name anymore. I’m getting more punishments daily from Google!
Thanks for the suggestion of having one long post, I’ll try to do it once a week. But I really need to think a lot of what to write that would span that long.

14@Sylver - Hmm How long did you get your traffic back after the email? I sent an email on the start of August and still no progress. I’ll try to make a focus on this blog right now. I’m really having a hard time everytime I look at my stats.
BTw, thanks a lot for the PSP traffic. It has been a lot! Actually you are becoming my top referrer for that.

15It took quite a while, 2 months I think and traffic was at a dismal low. After getting some inbound links, reformatting some popular posts, optimization for some related keywords, traffic came back… and so much more than before that I had to add more BW on my hosting plan =p
Basically, don’t brood on it. Blogging is meant to be enjoyed, not stressed about no? From personal experience, that was my mistake in my early months of blogging.
On the PSP traffic hehe. I’m glad Yahoo finally took notice of my hard work, it’s my top referrer which in turn refers to you ^_^

16I’m not sure that doing paid posts will hurt the amount of visitors Google sends you. I know because two of my blogs went from PR4 to PR0 because of me doing paid posts but I’m still getting heaps of visitors from Google.

Well.. Have you not done any paid links.. Before.. I mean when somebody ask you to put links on your old post in exchange for some amount?
I debt links are those links that are included in your old post.
One more suggestion is go to your previous post and put no-follow attribute on some outgoing links .. specially to those paid post

18May Google grant your wishes, allen!
It must have something to do with the PR. If given the same keywords, those with higher PR are given immediate importance. More SEO work has to be done on the low/no PR sites.
As to the penaltization, Google will probably expire your penalty in the next round of update. I’ve seen that in many dotcom blogs.

For a while, my PR went to zero but eventually went back again to three.
I never figured out why it happened but I hope yours wouldn’t stay at zero and rebounds like my blog did :]

Btw, thanks so much. I forgot that I should be enjoying blogging. LoL. I need to take a break from my blog, separate myself from it for a while and enjoy life.

26Do you have more than one website, Allen? Did you place lots of links from silkenhut.com to your other websites? If you engaged in aggressive cross-linking, that may be one reason.

29@ManuelV - Oh you mean the JohnChow effect? Hmm well, I have about 2 or 3 blogs only pointing to this site but they are linking to posts, not to the homepage. Umm Would it have an effect if two of my subdomains in this domain got deleted by my host? It would result into a lot of 404 not found I guess, does it affect the main domain?
