How to enable Google 2-Step Verification on your Google Account?

When you log in to your Google Account (e.g. Gmail, AdSense), you will only need to input your password and you can go in. However, if you use Google’s 2-Step Verification, you will need to input an additional code to enter your account. The code would be sent to your phone as a text message or as a voice message. This greatly enhances your account’s security and I suggest that this should be done to your account.
Requirements:
- Mobile phone that’s linked to your account.
Here’s how we get started:
Go to your Google account settings at this page.

Under Security, find “2-step verification” and click on Edit if it is still Off. On the next page, click on Set up 2-step verification to start the process.
You will have to pick on how you want your account to be verified. (I picked Text message (SMS))

If you pick Landline or mobile phone,
- You will pick if you want to be informed via SMS or a voice call
- Input the code received
If you pick Smartphone Application,
For android,
- Download this application https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.authenticator
- Scan the bar code on your screen and input the code received.
For blackberry,
- Download the application “Google Authenticator” at m.Google.com/authenticator.
- follow the instructions to generate the code and input the code received
For IPhone,
- Download this application http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-authenticator/id388497605?mt=8
- Scan the bar code on your screen and input the code received.
After you input the code, you will go here.

then here. Click on Turn On 2-Step Verification.

and you are done!
You might get this warning!
Passwords may fail for your phone, email, chat or other apps

which I will discuss in my next post.
Till next time,
