How to Install 6.60 PRO-B Custom Firmware on PSP 1000 Official Firmware?

Today, I’ll share on how to install custom firmware to your PSP Fat. This is for the people who have recently bought a PSP 1000 and it is still on official firmware. You will need custom firmware in order to play downloaded psp games.

Latest Versions:

  • PSP official Firmware = 6.60
  • PRO-B Custom firmware = PRO B10-fix

No downloads are offered in this blog. This will only guide you once you have the files needed.

This guide is specific to the following conditions only so these would be the prerequisites:

  • Your PSP is the PSP Fat (PSP 1000)
  • Your PSP is on official firmware
  • Your PSP is being charged through AC
  • Your PSP’s battery is at least 78% full

 

If your PSP is on official firmware that’s less than 6.60, we need to update your PSP to 6.60. If you are already on version 6.60, skip this steps.

  1. Download the official firmware file (it should contain an eboot.PBP file). Please ensure that this is the correct version

  2. Connect your PSP to your computer
  3. Extract the file and copy it to your PSP’s memory stick under this directory [/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/]
    So it’s location would now be at /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
  4. Disconnect your PSP from your computer
  5. On your PSP, proceed to Game->Memory Stick and run the update.
  6. Enjoy 6.60 official firmware!

If your PSP is on 6.60 official firmware already, proceed below in installing the PRO-B custom firmware.

  1. Download the PRO-B custom firmware for 6.60 [660PRO-B10.fix1]
  2. Connect your PSP to your computer
  3. Copy the following folders to your PSP’s memory stick under this directory [/PSP/GAME/]
    CIPL_Flasher
    PROUPDATE

  4. Disconnect your PSP from your computer
  5. On your PSP, proceed to Game->Memory Stick and run PROUPDATE.
  6. Follow the instructions to install the PRO-B Custom firmware (Press X to launch CFW)
  7. After installing, On your PSP, proceed to Game->Memory Stick and run CIPL_Flasher.
  8. Follow the instructions to install CIPL_Flasher (Press X to install CIPL)

Once these are all done, I congratulate you! You are now on custom firmware for your PSP Fat and you can proceed in playing games! Enjoy!
