How to use PSPIdent to Identify your PSP’s MotherBoard?
For today, I’m going to teach you how to use PSPIdent but first, what is PSPIdent?
PSPIdent is a homebrew application for PSP that you can use to identify your PSP’s motherboard and other details. Knowing your PSP’s motherboard is important if you are going to be installing custom firmware as there are different instructions that depends on your motherboard model.
PSPIdent can only be ran if you are already on custom firmware. If you are not, you would need to use another application which would be the PSP Module Checker. But for now, let’s focus on using PSPIdent.

Prerequisites:
- PSP running on custom firmware (eg. M33, Gen, Hen, Pro, Me)
Here’s the instruction:
- Connect your PSP to your computer
- Copy the whole PSPIdent folder under /PSP/GAME/ on your memory stick.

- Disconnect your PSP from your computer
- On your PSP, proceed to Game->Memory Stick and run PSPIdent.
Upon running, you will be shown the details of your PSP. Here’s a sample (from a PSP SLIM or PSP 2000)

I just pressed O to create a screenshot and I was able to get the screenshot at the /PICTURES/PSPIDENT/ folder.
So what’s next? Now that you know your PSP’s motherboard, you can now proceed on installing the latest custom firmware on it so that you can enjoy playing the latest games.
