Late night blog updates

Whew I just got home from work and I am really tired but I don’t want to sleep yet until I’ve finished this post. The purpose of this post is to update you all with what’s going to happen to this blog in a few days and also a quick update of the blog goals for 2008.

A new theme is coming (Blog Goal # 1)

Yes! You have read it right! Yesterday, I have found a theme that I’d love to use for this blog. Currently, I’m testing it out locally in my laptop. I want it to be a perfect for me so that I won’t change my theme anymore. I’m giving myself about two (2) weeks to finish customizing the theme.

Minimize blog resources/plugins to decrease loading time

At first, I installed a lot of plugins to this blog thinking that it will be good for my blog. However, I realized that some of them are not really that useful and some are redundant. For example, for my spam plugin I used to use Akismet and Spam Karma. They do the same thing so why use both right? Another would be, my stat trackers such as wordpress.com stats and firestats. Since I already installed Google analytics, these two can be removed. In this way, I reduce the size of my blog pages and decrease loading time for my visitors. I’m still in the process of evaluating my wordpress plugins. Also my sidebar will be getting a big revamp but it will wait until the theme is done.

I’ve found a niche for my new blog (Blog Goal #

I am planning to create a new blog soon and after thinking about it, I’ve found my niche. It is something that will not take much time in updating and I’m sure I’ll be having fun while doing it. Oh no, I won’t reveal it now so if you want to know what will it be in the future, subscribe to my feeds.

1000 Unique visitors a day here I come (Blog Goal # 2)

Now this is something that I’m very happy with right now. I’m estimating that I won’t even reach the end of 2008 before achieving this goal. Why? Let the stats provided by Google Analytics tell you why…
