Mafia Wars New Feature – 3 levels of job masteries

Mafia Wars just added a new feature to their game. More details after the jump.Let me quote the change,

Prove that you’ve got what it takes to completely master each of the jobs available to you and we’ll provide you with a reward each time you complete a mastery level. Master all three levels of every job in a tier and we’ll give you something extra special.

Each time you complete a level of mastery, you’ll receive a skill point that you can spend on improving your character. Complete the next level of mastery for that job and you’ll receive another skill point, and so on. Additional rewards are provided each time you complete a level of mastery in all of the jobs of a particular tier:

Mastery 1: Tier Title
Mastery 2: “Skilled” Tier Title; +5% to loot drops in that tier
Mastery 3: “Master” Tier Title; +10% to loot drops in that tier; bonus item

If you want to find out what those special bonus items are, you had better get started on mastering those jobs! Remember though, you have to complete all of the previous tiers first before you can receive the rewards from the higher tiers. As an example, you won’t get the Associate title until you’ve completed the first level of mastery for the Street Thug jobs as well.

My reaction:

Before, when you have masterered a job, you won’t give any attention to it anymore since it will not bring you anything new. You will just move on to other jobs and master them also. I have not reach that high yet but what if you have run out of jobs, what will you do?

From what I see, this new feature adds a new level of repetivity (is there such a word like this?) to the game. It basically makes us go back to the previous jobs we have already ignored and try them again as we now have three tier job masteries. We have to master the job three times before we can ignore that job again.

This is pretty cool. Making people learn how to acheive something but making it fun at the same time. Let me know when you are done with the “street thugs” LOL

I’ve spent a heck of a lot of time level upping on all kinds of games. Must have spent around 4 or 5 years, non-stop. Got de-addicted around 3 years back. Haven’t played since then, so much as I like this game, and thanks for the invitation to play, but I think I’ll pass.

If I start playing again, Allen, my family will hunt you down. :)

@Ling, lol I see. Were they online games or console games? I never spent that much time on online games before. Usually console games took a lot from my childhood years. ^_^

ive mastered everything until hitman and im doing the capo mastering now and beleive me i cant wait to get that boss mastery so my energy would be fast since it only take 3 minutes to regenerate after doing consiligere and boss wich would cut it in half and deduc t30 sec i would get an energy every minute wich in other word would maen my lvl 142 mafioso with 1000 energy would take around 16 hours regenerate rather then 50 hours and that is a diffrence since most jobe need only 30-50 energy

I usually dont mind attackers and robbers as i accept it as part of the game. However, when you are robbed 30+ in a row, i think thats too much and simply out of taste. The only reason this big A left is because i sold off all my casinos. Imagine my losses (I think I used up all my savings to rebuy the casinos) since im working on the money awards. For those who had been in the same situation before or you simply want some blood, i’d be grateful for any kind of revenge on this loser:
