Multiple blogs plus paid posts equals?

I was thinking about the comment of Ling (comment # 3) in one of my previous posts,

…Maybe you need to start a couple more blogs. You know, build up some PR on all of them so you can make multiple posts when you have a good advertiser and so be able to earn more…

and it seems like a good idea.

So with this, I have created my own plan. Let me share it with you through an enumeration…

  1. Start a brand new blog. You can pick whatever niche or topic you want to focus on. In my case, I will start on an anime blog and a game blog.
  2. Post articles in them consistently for two to three months. The plan here is to make it look like an active blog. (hehe)
  3. After gaining pagerank, traffic and rising in Alexa, start submitting these blogs to paid review companies. If they reject you, learn why they rejected you and try to comply by their rules.
  4. If you manage to get in, start mixing up your normal post and paid posts. You should maintain a ratio of at least two normal posts to one paid post so that Google will not slap you.
  5. After that, keep on posting and let the money flow in. If you think you can handle another blog, go back to step one. ^_^

Now how can this bring you lots of money? Well, let’s see how much does a paid post cost. The lowest I’ve seen is $5-$6 dollars per post so what if one blog of yours makes 15 paid posts in a month? That would be…

15 posts * $5 per post = $75 in earnings

and that’s just for one blog. What if you have 3 other blogs? then it would be…

$75 earning per blog * 4blogs = $300 total earnings in one month.

I know that if you compare those earnings with big time bloggers than can probably earn $300 a month in just one of their ad sales, this would be very small but for small time bloggers, this is already big. It would require a bit of work creating the posts but if you are imaginative enough and love to write a lot, then this is good way to make money online.

Of course, I’m going to try this one out myself by creating blogs just for this purpose. I know I’m going to spend lots of time writing posts but it will be worth it. If you are willing to try this method, please do inform me. Let’s experiment together and see results after 3-4 months. ^_^

I agree with Ling. This is similar to my strategy, and I think over time a solid network of blogs will pay off. It takes much more work though, and it means devoting time and content to each blog.

I’ve been running 5 blogs for that precise reason, although I have to say that I rarely take opportunities that pay as little as $5. Once you’ve established a readership the opportunities pay more. As a matter of fact, I’m regularly making over $2,000 per month doing it.

Another option is to post date many posts 3 months or more back and build up your posts in a short amount of time and then wait for google to spider your blog. That way you at least have the amount of posts you need basically right away and the time length showing ;) My main blog is fully the right time length but I did that on another blog of mine to get it going quick.

@Porch Lifts – Ah yes! It does take time and devotion to build up the network of blogs but as long as you enjoy it, you will make it through. ^_^

@Kate – Hi Kate! Thanks for the advice. I just went to your blogs and I think I discovered two of them. I can say that I’m very impressed on your earnings through paid blogging. Care to share some tips to a poor blogger? hehe :)

@Carol – Hi Carol, hmm based on your comment, do you mean that I need to have 3 months worth of posts then I’ll just schedule them? It’s like post them all in one time then leave it? =)

Hmmm, this sounds interesting. I’ve been looking for a way to earn some side-money, even if it’s just enough to eat out a couple extra times each month. I just started a new job and I’m at the bottom of the totem pole.

I sit at home and watch tv with my roommates when I could be watching tv and making some dough!

@Chadwyck – If you do this method, I think you can earn enough to eat out every week. Although it is still better to have a regular job. ^_^

allen, i tried this formula sometime in October 2007, right after the first round of Google PR smackdown. A lot of bloggers were doing it because they couldn’t dare watch their main blogs polluted by the sponsored posts.

@ceblogger – So how was your result? Did you really gain a lot of money doing sponsored posts on different blogs?

allen, the PR3 blogs don’t have plenty of opps like those PR 4 and higher. But there are opps that I can post in my two blogspot blogs. some people earn as much as $300-500 per month on at least 3 domain blogs. it would be a combination of smorty, ppp, sponsoredreviews, blogsvertise. again PR matters for all of these.
