How to? I’ll show you.Do you still remember playing Playstation 1 (PSX) when you were still a kid? How many games can you still remember? It was the playstation that made me addicted to Role Playing Games and the first one I played was Breath of Fire III. I was just in elementary school then… I only finished the game when I replayed in via an emulator when I was in college.
It really feels good looking back at those games where I still could not beat because I was young then. I want to play those games again but I don’t have a PlayStation anymore… -_- So the solution would be….
To play them on an emulator… now.. I don’t know much on the legality of this but to be on the safe side, I’ll post this disclaimer.
NO DOWNLOADS ARE OFFERED ON THIS BLOG. Eboots/Roms are backups of the games provided you have the original copy so
Anyway, I’ve been reading some guides, doing some downloads here and there and… as of now, I have managed to play Suikoden on my PSP. I only did the following to be able to play playstation 1 games on psp.
- Read about it via psp-hacks.com
- d0wnload some eboots (don’t ask me where hehe)
- put them in the /GAME/ folder of my PSP
- grab a copy of POPSLOADER and put it in the /SEPLUGINS/ folder… don’t forget to enable it
Not all games will work on your PSP (assuming you have custom firmware), luckily there is this page that shows us the PSX on PSP combatibility list. It teaches us what versions of your firmware and POPSLOADER should you use to have a smooth gameplay. Here is the URL where you can simply copy paste into your browser.

You have to do this kinda stuff to play these games? Why not just buy whatever you need? Don’t think it’s that costly, is it?
Assuming that you still have original Playstation 1 cd in good condition, why then do you have to pay Sony again to download it on the Playstation store. You already have paid them for the game, why must you pay for it twice when you’re actually getting the same thing (Bit per bit it would be digitally the same thing, plus/minus the format headers).
There are converter(s) out there (forgot the actual name) that would convert your Iso (of your original game), to an Eboot. Sony wouldn’t give you this capability and would require you to re-purchase the game. The custom firmware enables you to play the converted eboot (again, from your original store-bought game), on your psp.
Now if you want to push the issue that you need to buy it at the PSN store as sony dictates, I’ll just slap ‘fair use’ at you face and we’d have a good old flaming debate which would just waste everyone’s time.

You mentioed custom firmware – I take it that my PSP dies because I’ve used something non-Sony then my warranty is toilet paper?

hmm what do you mean it died? you just get a blank screen after powering on your psp?
I can try to help .. but yes, it’s true. Doing something illegal to your PSP voids your warranty.
My son is really good in playing with his PSP. I bet he would be very interested to play with playstation 1. I am not into games thoguh, since I am very much engrossed with needlework. Yet, I find this games stuff interesting too.

See it’s a good thing that you can do this but. LEt’s face it, there aren’t that many good PS1 games compared to whats out now. So why do they keep trying make it so we can play them. Who cares! Just make the product cheaper and leave it out.
