PLDT myDSL DNS Problems
For the past few days, I have been experiencing intermittent internet connection from PLDT myDSL. Some websites would not load and I need to do a lot of browser refreshes to make it load (but it doesn’t work all the time).
I have done a few stuffs such:
- Clear my browser cache
- Flush my dns settings (ipconfig /flushdns)
- Restarted my computer
- Reset the DSL modem
but this problem still continues to bug me. Well, I searched for a solution and I believe I have found it.
The problem lies with PLDT myDSL’s DNS servers so one way to solve this is to change your DNS servers. By default, our DNS servers are set to be provided automatically by PLDT. We can change that.
You can use these values for your DNS. I have personally tried OpenDNS only.
From OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com/)
From Google Public DNS (http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/)
- Go to your connection and click Properties
- Find Internet Protocol Version 4 and double click on that
- Tick “Use the following DNS Server Addresses” and input the numbers above.
For your router,
You can do the same steps above. You just need to find out where the settings for DNS are stored. For more help, check out https://store.opendns.com/setup/
After changing the settings, do another DNS flush and clear your cache. I noticed instant improvements right away and now I could surf the pages without any problems now.
