Samsung Galaxy Y S5360
I would like to personally welcome myself to the Android World with my purchase of the newly released phone from Samsung, Samsung Galaxy Y.
Here’s the story of how it happened. It was morning when we started canvassing for Galaxy Mini and after we have found the shop that sells it cheap, we went for lunch and to shop for other items. When it was time to go back to buy the mini, we found that there was a new announcement of a Samsung phone called the Galaxy Y. It had the same processing power as the Galaxy Ace, had the size of the mini but it was cheaper than the mini.
We were shocked at this so we went to do some research at an nearby internet shop to look at this phone and a few minutes later, we were crossing the mini off our list and were now canvassing again for the Galaxy Y. To end the story, Jessa and the super impulsive me are now new owners of the Samsung Galaxy Y phone.
We bought at TopNet Shop, SM Megamall Cyberzone for only PHP 5700.00 (cheapest prize we have found).
Some short notes on this:
- It doesn’t have flash player (many applications will be incompatible)
- Specs doesn’t mention the Galaxy Y’s RAM but upon checking the phone, it is around 256-290MB.

I have been using it a lot yesterday and I’ve been trying to learn how to send messages better. I still get a lot of wrong presses as I’m not used to touch screen texting. I have also tried a few games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja then a few apps like Facebook, Gmail and others. Sadly, in checking the Android Marketplace, there are a lot of games that are deemed incompatible with the phone (no flash player and lack of RAM I guess).
Overall, I would agree with their claim that this phone would be a great phone for someone’s first android phone (like me).

paano po magconnect sa internet bukod sa wifi? pwede b gumamit ng load for internet? i mean may load nmn ako sa simcard kso d ako mkpgnet. paano po un?
Hello Mylene, you need to use GPRS. Go to settings -> Wifi and network connections -> mobile connections then enable packet data. You should see a G icon on top of your cellphone. Hope this helps.

I would suggest you go get the galaxy y… or get the lg optimus net. Galaxy mini is still on froyo (android 2.2) while galaxy y is already in gingerbread (android 2.3) so it is newer and faster than the mini.
