Layoffs. Paycuts. Salary Freeze. Contract termination. Financial Crisis. Shut downs.
These are the words we dread to hear from the company we work for. With the recent announcement from Intel of shutting down in the Philippines, I became temporarily addicted into reading the news, especially in the financial and IT section. I want to know what the other companies are saying so let me dig up some news ^_^

Microsoft just announced 5000 layoff. But that’s mostly in their head office in Redmond. But i it’s happening there, I’m pretty sure it’sgoing to spread to MSFT offices all over the world. End of the day, they want to cut expenses, so it doesn’t matter where the job cuts are coming from. If the person is not essential, then the job is as good as gone. Maybe not immediatley, but by teh end of the year, you’ll be seeing some heavy downsizing in MSFT.
how about HP? lols just kidding… thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing Now it become so easy to get all news but would be better if all were attached at one.
how about call centers? are they laying off too? with obama as the president, i think outsourcing would be less, so we all need to think of something unique to add to our services, and not just compete by price. if we would be competing by price, other asian countries can offer lower prices like vietnam, india and china.
Lenovo is getting ready to, or already has, make some cuts. I think that is mostly in Canada though, but also here in the US.
I don’t know if it will end up working out like this, but I would like to think that ultimately the tech industry will survive the recession/depression the best. Of course I every industry will feel the effects of it though.
Great post and some great info about IT.
