Tempting Devant 32″ LCD TVs

I am on a quest on buying my first television set and my target is a 32″ LCD TV. This is one of the brands that caught my eye earlier today while I was roaming around appliance stores mainly because of it’s freebies (sadly not the TV).

Let me write the specs here.

Some definition of terms (only what I know)

  • HD Ready has a resolution of around (1280×768) while Full HD has a resolution of (1920×1080)
  • SRS is something on the sounds (I think Toshiba has this one)
  • PIP means picture in picture where you can multi task (eg. one big picture for cable viewing while a little picture for your pc)

If I look at the prices, they are already very competitive when you compare it to branded LCD TVs. The 32″ Signature Series for me would be the best buy due to the freebies you can get (HDMI player then a 5.1 Channel Speaker System).

Other Stats:

  • Contrast Ratio is 15000 : 1
  • Power Consumption is around 150 Watts (is this high?)

This is one on my watch-out list but somehow, I’m not that convinced =( . Btw, the promo I guess is until the end of the month (July 2010) or when the Twilight: Eclipse fever is gone.

    After 1yr and 4 months my hdtv devant broke without any major reason lile falling or getting wet and it will cost me 7k to replace the whole board when i went to binondo their main service center they told me when theycalled here that the cpu ic broke thats why and told me” siguro ser naguluhan ung pinakautak nung tv” ang bobo naman pala ng tv nyo! They told me its because of me inputing my usb thumbdrive while watching tv and playing xbox via hdmi why the hell did they even place that in their proddict if its gona break thw whole tv word of advice wag magtipid dun ka na sa branded – here is the complete story in my site http://multiply.com/m/factory/reatain:journal#_%2Fm%2Fitem%2Freatain%3Ajournal%3A39
