Hi! I'm Allen and I welcome you to my blog. I blog mainly about my blogging experiences where I get to learn how to earn money online through blogging and have fun doing so. To learn more about my blog, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you have some questions, feel free to ask me by using my contact form. Thank and have a nice day.
I remembered a tip by Jaypee where he told me that it would be better if the blog is located on the root domain instead of a subdomain such as “domain/blog”.
So I researched and tested my findings on a local install of wordpress first. After making it work, I tried it on my live blog. I did not get it at the first try but as of now, I think it already works. Before I start with the guide, let me answer some questions first the might be asked.
This guide is for migrating your wordpress blog to another location. In this specific scenario, I changed the location of my blog from http://silkenhut to http://silkenhut.com.
Although I mentioned these risks, I’m currently looking for solutions on how to minimize or find a work around for these links. As of now, I’m currently checking the blog for more errors. If you find any error, please inform me right away.
//The guide is being constructed//
If you are ready to transfer your blog, then it is time to read this. I would like to tell you that this is how I did it so if something goes wrong, please tell me. Follow the instructions very carefully. I nearly destroyed my blog while doing this. (Just to scare you! hehe)
This guide is to teach you how to transfer your wordpress blog to your root domain.

1Hi Allen, I’m sure there’s a reason for putting a blog section of you site to the root directory, but Matt Cutts, head of Google’s Webspam team, thinks its better to have a separate directory for yor blog, say domain.com/blog nga.
Why?
Sabi nya, “Don’t put your blog at the root of your domain.”..(in case you want to put something else in the root level,… “Name your directory ‘blog’ instead of ‘wordpress’”.. (in case you change your blog platform)

2Haha I did not know about this however, it would be hard to switch again so I’ll stay in this mode for now. I’ll just see if this move was beneficial or detrimental to the blog. As of now, I see my blog losing in the search engines results due to the move. I hope the blog can recover. hehe

4Hi Julia, I’m afraid it’s not applicable to blogspot. You need to have your own domain. =)

5Kamusta naman. I never thought of the whole /blog thing, really. I want people to type less letters. But then again, I was completely clueless on what SEO was. haha

6Well, as of now, I’ve lost the pagerank of all my pages except the homepage.
Other than that, I think it’s ok now. Just a few broken links here and there which I don’t want to fix since it might cause more problems that it fixes.
