Please help out bro. Badly need it talaga. :(

The answer is after the jump. I need help with “related posts” plugin of WP

Actually there are a lot of related posts plugins for WP so please tell me first what plugin you are using. It may be a the plug-in name or the plug-in’s website.

How do you cut the posts?

Let us first discuss how it works. Cutting a post is useful when you want to provide an introduction to your post in your homepage and the user has to click the link, “read more of this entry” or something similar to see the whole post. This is useful when you have a long post because the readers have a choice whether to read it all or to skip it after they have read the introduction.

To cut posts, wordpress uses the tag <!–more–>. Basically all contents before the <!–more–> tag will be shown in the homepage and all contents after the <!–more–> tag can only be read if you click on the “read more of this entry” link. As a demonstration of that, see this post itself. If you look at this post on the homepage, you will only see the questions but as you click the “read more” link, you will see the answer you are reading now.

There are two ways you can cut a post depending on which editor you are using when you are writing your post.

  • If you are writing in the visual editor, you can add the <!–more–> tag by clicking this icon (see picture)

Visual Editor More Button

Clicking that will create a line with the word “more” at the end. Think of this as the graphical version of the <!–more–> tag.

  • If you are writing in the code editor, you can add the <!–more–> tag by clicking the “more” icon,

Code editor more
or by directly typing the <!–more–> into your post.
