The answer is after the jump. I need help with “related posts” plugin of WP
Actually there are a lot of related posts plugins for WP so please tell me first what plugin you are using. It may be a the plug-in name or the plug-in’s website.
How do you cut the posts?
Let us first discuss how it works. Cutting a post is useful when you want to provide an introduction to your post in your homepage and the user has to click the link, “read more of this entry” or something similar to see the whole post. This is useful when you have a long post because the readers have a choice whether to read it all or to skip it after they have read the introduction.
To cut posts, wordpress uses the tag <!–more–>. Basically all contents before the <!–more–> tag will be shown in the homepage and all contents after the <!–more–> tag can only be read if you click on the “read more of this entry” link. As a demonstration of that, see this post itself. If you look at this post on the homepage, you will only see the questions but as you click the “read more” link, you will see the answer you are reading now.
There are two ways you can cut a post depending on which editor you are using when you are writing your post.
Clicking that will create a line with the word “more” at the end. Think of this as the graphical version of the <!–more–> tag.
or by directly typing the <!–more–> into your post.

2You can also replace ‘the_content()’ tag with ‘the_excerpt()’ if you’re a forgetful person like me.
on related posts… uhh.. WP-Related Posts? or just Related Posts? hmm

3@Kirbitz - Hi Kirby, I have yet to answer your first question because you did not tell me what related post plug-in you are using.
You may want to check out this post.

4@sylv3rblade - Hi sylv3rblade (hirap itype ung pangalan mo haha), umm what exactly does that tag do? It will provide an excerpt of the post if you wrote something in the excerpt field while making the post?

5ah hehe.. pede sylver na lang, kaso mas may kilalang un ang IGN kaya ung alphanumeric gamit ko ^^
@topic
Instead of waiting for a more tag to limit your posts, it just takes the first 55 words (even HTML codes like img, h2 etc) of your post. It takes a while to get used to but it works just fine if you just need a few words called from a post like a search or archive.

6I can’t believe that added the more line was as easy as that . I have been trying to figure this one out for a while and thanks to your post, I now know how to do it.

7@syler - I tried testing the_excerpt() but it looks like it’s only good for archive and category pages. It lacks the “read more” link which is important in homepages. Would you know how to display it?

9@Fionixe - Ikaw ha, kinakalimutan mo na ako . bwahha
anyways, to answer your question…you look for the the_content(’text here’) tag, it’s can be found usually in the main index template.
Now, change that “text here” into read more or gusto mo pang basahin ito or anything you like.
I hope that helps.
