WordPress Stuck at Maintenance Mode Solution
WordPress is an open source blogging platform and a great thing about it is the abundance of plugins and themes. WordPress and the plugins also get updated frequently so we will have lesser problems in the future. Updating is very easy because all you need to do is to click one button. But sometimes, s..t happens and something goes wrong. The update didn’t work properly and now you will see this screen when you try to access your blog.
Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.
You cannot go back to your dashboard nor view your blog because all you see is this screen. So what do you do?
To solve this, you need to go inside your host (or cpanel if it sounds more familiar) where the files are stored. Go to where your blog is located and delete the “.maintenance” file that was recently created.
The reason behind this would be that during the update process; wordpress automatically puts your blog into maintenance mode while it updates the files needed then returns it back to normal. This is done in the background and it only takes a few seconds or more. However, if the update process was stopped prematurely, then wordpress won’t be able to undo maintenance mode so you have this issue.
Hope this helps!
Till next time,
